anyone know a site where it teaches you how to make ceramic pots?
i prefer a site with pictures on how to make vases, pots, etc... Every time i try it, it becomes deformed and makes me mad.
You cannot possibly learn a skill that requires a "feel" for materials from a website. The skills you need are actual, not virtual--virtual information will not work. If your pots are deformed, it's because you don't know how to throw yet. There's no tricks a website can give you--you just need hours and hours of practice at the wheel. Watching a real person in real time who knows how to throw may help too.
In my area, there are non-credit enrichment classes offered through the local colleges--ceramics courses are available and very popular. These classes are inexpensive compared to regular college courses, and you'll learn a lot in a relatively short time. Plus, you'll be with people who are having the same struggles as you are, and an instructor who knows how to teach people to overcome those struggles. This can be a lot more helpful than struggling on your own.
