All About Cleaning A Cloudy Mirror
There are a number of questions about why mirrors do what they do once the start to age and today I want to focus on why they become cloudy and how you can go about cleaning them.
If you have, say, a full length mirror and is now worn out and cloudy one thing I can say is that you are together with millions of others across the globe. I once owned a problem mirror myself; I can bet that you neighbour has owned one too. I tried everything I could to clean it until I got rid of it only to discover the best cleaning methods months after I had gotten rid of it.
Now what if you do not want to replace it for one reason or the other? How do you go about cleaning it? As a discount decorative wall mirrors specialist I know a few tricks on how you can do this effectively. These suggestions can apply to all kinds including unframed, oversized, compact, large including vintage full length mirror.
The most obvious way is to clean them with water. Just warm the water or even to boil and then try to clean it. Make sure the water is plain or else it might not work. If you own plexy glass then you can be sure this will work pretty well.
Also try using some vinegar and a newspaper to wipe of the cloudiness. This could work especially if some one once added some smeared the mirror with some oil.
Another alternative is to use spray cleaners like Windex or something similar. One thing I must mention here is that spray cleaners are good for some chrome bathroom mirrors and not for others. This is why you should not worry too much if this option does not work for you – just move on to the next option.
If all these tips fail then it probably means there are other reasons why it does not respond. Maybe the problem is with the silver on the back of the mirror i.e it could be peeling off. You can get it re-silvered but I would recommend you let go of it and find a new one – unless of course it has some sentimental value attached to it.
